Do you think sometimes that you wanna read a book really hard but you aren't just able to get it?
There could be many reasons like money constraints, or as in my case, my parents don't allow me to, or any other problem. If yes then you are in the right place. Keep reading.
Firstly I am really sorry that I did not post in the last week. I had an important test so.... you know.
So today we are gonna talk about 3 websites for thrifty booklovers to curb their hunger for books.
Well, a note first:
I do agree that there is nothing more seductive than real paper. But we are facing a problem in getting a book so... I don't think it's bad to read an e-book sometimes.
Another point is I highly recommend purchasing books unless there's no other option. Because that's how we show our love to the author.
I do purchase a book whenever I have money. And when I don't, then I have these websites.
Now let's dive right into it.
I've read many posts on the internet about such sites but all of them suggested many websites that don't provide everything.
These three websites are all unique. You will never need anything more than one website. which one you want is yours to decide. Some of them might not have a particular book. But all of them have at least 95% of the books.
NOTE: One of the sites is Pdfdrive. People still have doubts about whether this is legal. But pdf drive says you must have legal permission to use the things you download. Nonetheless, people still download. But I haven't faced any problem so far in three years.
Again if you live in India then you can choose torrenting as your daily job and not get caught ever.
In other countries please proceed at your own risk. Again if your country is ignorant of torrents then, go for it.
I will also talk about how to get them on any device.
Here they are:
1} Internet Archive
This site is an archive of all the digital files that exist. You can get audio, video, texts, and anything on this site.
The texts section has over 25,533,400+ texts including everything under the sun that counts as texts.
This website satisfies my hunger every time. It also lets you borrow books if you are willing to wait for enough time.
Another advantage is it offers files in various formats
How to get a book from this website
1. Go to archive.org
Click on the texts icon
2. Something like this pops up. Now search for a book you want in the search bar.
For me, I'll go with Rich Dad Poor Dad
3. Click on any result you feel is good. Don't worry, you get a preview before downloading it.
4. Select the format you want it in. Then click on it. There you go. You got it.
If your format doesn't appear, don't worry, just have a look at the last part of this post. It'll tell you how to get your desired format.
2} Pdf drive
This is also a good website if you wanna get everything in pdf format. This website also has over 83000000 files. This is quite newer as compared to the internet archive but still, it's a very good website.
It's basically a search engine for pdf files. It finds them for you and puts them in front of you.
How to get a book from here:
1. Go to Pdfdrive.com and search for the ebook you want
2. Click on any search result
3. Click the download button. Enjoy!
3} Epdf.pub
This is again a website with tonnes of files. It provides all of them in the epub format. It is very irritating sometimes, but again, I've got you covered. Read the last part and find how to get them in your desired format.
How to get an e-book from here:
1. Go to epdf.pub and search for the desired e-book.
2. Click on the result.
3. Click download.
4. Wait till the timer runs out
5. Verify yourself and download it
Final point i.e. Conversion
Well, it's no big deal. I just overhyped it in the post. It's just a 2-minute process, quicker than instant noodles.
Just search : [Your format] to[Desired format] converter.
For example, let's go with epub to pdf converter.
1. Search epub to pdf converter and click on the first result that appears
2. Drag and drop your file on the page or just upload it. Click on convert
4. Wait a few seconds and then click download.
There you go. You can get any file in any format.
Some other websites that also offer free e-books but in lesser quantity:
1. Project Gutenburg
2. Bookboon.com
So that's it readers these websites will save you a lot of money and also satisfy your hunger.
BUT again I would say nothing can overcome physical books. If you are able to, then please pay your due to respect to the author by buying his book.
What other websites do you know that are good? Let me know down in the comments below.
